We Rode and Walked 4 Love -- 2011 edition

For the second year running, our family completed the Ride, Run, Walk 4 Love. The annual event supports Love146, an organization with the mission of ending child sex slavery and exploitation---a most worthy cause. Our family raised $350 (a big THANK YOU! to our donors). Overall, the event raised $45,000.

This year, Grandpa Rich (my dad) joined in the fun. He and I completed the 50 mile ride, which took us around Lake Saratoga and through Saratoga National Historic Park. The park is the site of the battle of Saratoga and is amazingly picturesque. While we rode, Mommy and Ethan completed the 5k walk (with short stretches of running to look good for the cameras). After the walk Mommy had the fun of chasing Ethan (now 2 years old) around the pavilion from which the race was coordinated. Needless to say, she left the event wearier from the chasing than the walking. Despite the weariness, it was a fun time for all.

Mark your calendars for the 2012 RRW4L on September 22nd. The Westervelts will be there!
