Settling In

We know you've been anxiously awaiting an update and photos of our new home. We were without Internet access for the past week. Sorry for the delay!

The movers arrived on Saturday morning (2/16). Five average-sized guys moved our 11,000 pounds of stuff off of two flatbed trucks and into our house in a matter of 3.25 hours. They took breaks, didn't break anything, and put our stuff where it belonged. Amazing.

The house is coming together. Betsy is responsible for 99% of the work. She's been working room-by-room and been doing a fantastic job. The photos below show our progress from move-in day to this past weekend.

Things have gone smoothly, except a little plumbing mishap: After we closed on Friday (2/15), we noticed that the kitchen sink was running slowly. (It wasn't that way during the inspection.) By Saturday afternoon, the sink was completely stopped up. A couple of hours later, and a little sawzalling, I had replaced the line running from the sink to the main waste stack. Nothing like a little plumbing to christen a new home.
