Gliding with Alec

I (Eric) went gliding last weekend in Virginia with my friend Alec Bateman, who is an able pilot. Below are some photos and a two videos I took from the back seat.
Gliding with Alec

Taking off

The takeoff video ends just a few minutes before we reached our ultimate towing altitude of 5,000 ft.  The beeping is the vertical rate of climb meter.

Landing

The landing was as smooth as it seems in the video.  I too was expecting something akin to the common airline landing thump---especially since the glider doesn't have a suspension on the landing wheel.  Yeah, there's only one!
