- Noah's potassium would drop to under 5 (it was 8.9 at noon, 8.2 at 5pm). If it doesn't, cardiac arrest is likely.
- 5-6:00 dialysis catheter successfully placed in his groin!
- 7pm forward--He will transfer to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) where they specialize in the delivery of dialysis. He will be placed on a CRRT (Continous renal replacement therapy) apparently a slower version of typical dialysis, that gives them a larger window to adjust his fluids, begin TPN for nutrition, etc.
- Any blood products that he receives will be free of infection/contamination
- Dialysis would successfully lower his potassium
- The best solution is that his kidneys will begin functioning on their own (which they expect them to do, it's just a matter of how long)
- Many of our out of state family arrive tonight

God, we know you are a mighty, mighty Father, and we call on you now on behalf of little Noah. God envelope him with your tender care, make the impossible possible; God we just pray the next time they check Noah's potassium level is would be well under 5 - so dramatic that the only explanation can be the hand of His heavenly Father. Lord sustain Eric & Betsy with God-strength as they fight for their son. In Jesus' precious name we pray, Chuck & Bobbie Jo
ReplyDeleteDear Eric and Betsy,
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you all from Memphis! We know you're in good hands there in the PICU, you have a great team of doctors and nurses there to take care of baby Noah. We will continue praying for you in the coming days and weeks. Susannah and Damian
